PUPIL PREMIUM

Pupil Premium Lead: Miss Guest

Pupil Premium Strategy 2025 - 2028

Pupil Premium funding is an allocation of additional funding used by schools to support groups of pupils who may be vulnerable to underachievement. It is the intention that this funding accelerates progress, raises attainment and provides enrichment opportunities.

Pupil Premium Funding is allocated to children who meet certain criteria:

  • If they are looked after by the Local Authority
  • If they have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last six years (also known as Ever 6 FSM)
  • If their parents are currently serving in the armed forces

Pupil Premium at Beacon View Primary School

At Beacon View Primary School, we use the Pupil Premium funding to support children to eradicate any difference in performance between eligible children and their peers. We have high aspirations and celebrate the achievements and progress of all of the children.

Leaders ensure that the spending is linked closely to the School Development Plan. Currently, areas of spending include:

  • Guidance from other agencies and support strategies for individual and groups of children
  • Close partnership with an Education Welfare Officer to ensure that the attendance of children eligible for Pupil Premium funding is at, or close to our Trust's target of 97%
  • Pupil Premium children will have their needs clearly identified and the progress closely monitored throughout the school
  • Training for all staff to deliver high-quality interventions for individuals or small groups of children
  • 1:1 daily reading for all identified children needing support
  • Ensuring that more able Pupil Premium children are challenged and encouraged to develop a love of learning and an appreciation of their local community.
  • Ensuring the Beacon View enrichment offer is available to all, regardless of background

MEASURING THE IMPACT OF OUR PUPIL PREMIUM STRATEGY

  • Leaders and teachers evaluate attainment and progress for all groups of pupils at least once a term
  • Academic data is used to identify those in need of additional support and interventions are put in place
  • Attendance data is monitored weekly to identify children at risk of falling below target. Support is put in place swiftly.
  • The voice of the child is captured regularly to ensure that the enrichment offer is fit for purpose
  • The Inclusion Team evaluate wider measures to ensure that support is purposeful
